Summer is here! I hope that you are all having an amazing and productive year thus far. The Flavels are making the most of our move to Tennessee and traveling most every week to attend AFA events and spend time with our AFA family. We are about 8 hours even from Freyshof, Þórshof, and Njörðshof. We just celebrated Sumarmál at the event in Johnson City, TN and are forward to celebrating ALSO at Njörðshof, so we hope to see many of you at all these events.
As always, I encourage you all to get out and attend the wonderful AFA events near you and to attend Sumarmál at your local hof! Gathering with your Folk and practicing our faith as part of a community is tremendously important to get the most out our being Ásatrú. As the Rune Poem says "Man is the joy of man." That is a thought that I would like us all to internalize this summer; we are meant to be joyous people.
"The son of a king shall be silent and wise,
And bold in battle as well;
Bravely and gladly a man shall go,
Till the day of his death is come." - Hávamál 15
It is noble to carry one's self with gladness. Find ways to celebrate the blessings in your life. Be a cheerful person, even in the face of adversity. Let your joy lift your brothers and sisters up as you engage with your AFA family. There is so much to be happy and excited about and I am looking forward to sharing that joy with you all as the summer progresses. We are deeply blessed.
Heill the Æsir!
Heill the Folk!
Heill the AFA!
